Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel can arrange transfers in a comfortable air conditioned van from any airport or location in Costa Rica. See below for a list of pick up locations and cost and please contact us for arrangements.

Rental Car Service

Rental vehicles from all major car rental companies are available at either international airport. For your convenience, we can arrange for your car rental with our vendor at preferential rates. It is highly recommended to rent a GPS unit with your rental car as road signs or numbers are not well marked in Costa Rica. Please enter our hotel name or GPS coordinates N10º 42min,49sec / W84º 58min,72sec to obtain driving directions to our property. Roads to reach us from either international airport are paved, secondary roads to explore the area tend to be gravel, so we recommend renting an all-terrain vehicle anywhere you drive in Costa Rica.

Driving Directions

*Follow our directions and enjoy the beautiful landscape during your trip on our newly paved roads accessible for any type of vehicle. *

From Northern Guanacaste: Liberia Airport (LIR Airport) or surrounding areas. From Liberia, head south along the Interamericana Highway (Route 1). About 47.5 km (28 miles) before the town of Cañas, take the off-ramp and go under the highway, connecting with Route 6 towards Upala. Follow Route 6 for about 37 km (23 miles) to Bijagua. Once you reach the small town of Bijagua, look for a sign for the Tenorio Volcano National Park or our own sign, take a right onto the paved road at the sign. From the main road, it takes about 20 minutes, 9 km (6 miles), to get to the Tenorio National Park main entrance. Keep driving for 1.5 km (0.9 mile), we are on the right side of the road.

From San José (SJO Airport) or La Fortuna/Arenal. If you’re coming from SJO, head north along the Interamericana Highway (Route 1) for about 47 km (29 miles) until you get to San Ramón. Take Route 702 to Bajo Rodríguez for 38 km (24 miles), then make a right and take the 8 km (5 miles) shortcut to Santa Clara and turn left taking route 141 to El Tanque for 25 km (15 miles). This is a connection point coming from the La Fortuna/Arenal area. Get to route 142 for 3 km (1.8 miles) and get on route 4 north for about 52 km (32 miles) until you get to Katira. At Katira, make a left following the hotel signs through the town of Florida for 8km (5miles) to the town of Río Celeste, make a right and drive straight on for the next 4 km (2.2 miles). We are on the left side of the road.
